Mortgage Rates Remain at Three-Month Lows

The Daily Real Estate News (March 8, 2007) reports that mortgage rates have declined for the fourth time in the past five weeks. The average 30-year fixed mortgage rate is currently at 6.19 percent. Mortgage rates remained low on evidence of slower economic growth.

Fixed mortgage rates today are considerably lower than in the summer of 2006 which is the last time the Federal Reserve raised interest rates.
